Filter Guide

Filter Options
  • Volant air intake systems utilize a high-velocity venturi filter adapter which provides a smooth transition through the MAF sensor into the intake tube for a much needed airflow improvement over the factory rubber tubing and resonator box. Volant's Cool Air box is larger than the factory unit and incorporates a larger opening to collect a higher volume of colder ambient air.

    Good filter. Poor fitment.

I purchased this intake setup because I wanted to have the Donaldson power core filter. The filter box did not fit, the design interfered with the headlight assembly. Because I needed to get it installed, I had to modify the intake on the front to allow clearance for the headlight, so I’m stuck with it now, good or bad. The intake tube angle is also off. Seems to put some undue torque on the turbo intake, and I’m hoping that over time it doesn’t break the intake snout going into the turbo. Perhaps something with a flex boot in the middle of the tube? The filter itself barely fits through the provided opening to install it, very hard to get into place without damaging the filter. Other than that, it looks good once installed. We shall see how it works out. I don’t like to be critical, but this install was a pain. Would have never done it if my OE intake wasn’t broken.
