Volant air intake systems utilize a high-velocity venturi filter adapter which provides a smooth transition through the MAF sensor into the intake tube for a much needed airflow improvement over the factory rubber tubing and resonator box. Volant's Cool Air box is larger than the factory unit and incorporates a larger opening to collect a higher volume of colder ambient air.

The holes don’t line up the best to the 4 runners factory holes but I got it in. Great air flow and improved MPGs. Took over a month due to their vendor supply issues but it’s worth the wait. I do wish they stated a lead time in shipping when you order the item and keep you informed on delays without having to inquire. Overall? I’d use them again without hesitation and I have suggested their products to others.
United StatesNice looking intake, sounds great and installation was pretty straight forward. I did have to slightly drill the holes bigger to make the air box fit correctly. The reason for 2 stars is because after 30mins of driving, my check Engine and TRAC Off light came on. I contacted Volant and they're reply was, "I currently have the latest duct (replacing the duct use to fix this issue) so they're not sure why only some 4runners are getting the check Engine light. I should try to return the intake to the place I bought it from." Now I'm left with an intake I can't return because the place I bought it from has a no return policy if used. So if you decide to get this intake just know that your 4runner might be one of the unlucky ones that will get the check Engine and TRAC Off light. Volant currently doesn't have a fix for this.
